For the first time in my life, I
am sitting in first class and it was worth every single penny. I got settled
into the comfortable, huge seat and pulled out my iPhone. While waiting for the
rest of the passengers to board, I made a quick call to my mom to let her know
I was getting ready to leave. I promised her I would call tomorrow to let her
know that I arrived safely.
When the flow of passengers
started to slow, I was pleased to see that the seat next to me was still empty.
As soon as I settled in with my copy of Outdoor Photographer, this strange
electric sensation washed over me, causing the hairs on my arms to stand on
end. It was such an odd yet exhilarating sensation.
I glanced up trying to find what
could have possibly caused this bizarre feeling. The only thing I could see was
a tall, dark-haired man entering the plane. He lifted his carry-on bag into the
overhead compartment.
He was impeccably dressed right
down to his designer shoes in a dark gray, pinstriped suit, which no doubt cost
more than what most people make in a month. Such swanky-looking businessmen
always annoyed me since most were so arrogant.
The only available first class
seat just so happened to be next to me. Great. I rolled my eyes, clutching my
magazine to my chest in irritation.
He bent down to take his seat,
making eye contact with me. My breath hitched as his beautiful, piercing blue
eyes pinned me to my seat. They reminded me of a perfect, cloudless blue sky.
He had a gorgeous full head of wavy, dark brown hair. I had the urge to run my
fingers through it, mussing it uncontrollably. He had an angular nose that lead
to perfect lush lips, and a square, masculine jaw. He was beautiful. My eyes
widened at the sight of him. Pausing for a moment, he frowned before taking his
seat.
I winced at my obvious reaction
to his gorgeous features as years of insecurity hit. He’s thinking how he's
going to be stuck on a six-hour flight next to some strange, unattractive woman
ogling over his hotness the entire time.
I never thought of myself as
being attractive. I was barely five feet tall with pale skin, shoulder-length,
curly, brown hair, and big, brown eyes. My puffy cheeks were like that of a
chubby toddler who hadn’t lost her baby fat yet, even though I was a perfectly
respectable size five. Not that it mattered anyway. He looked like the kind of
guy that would have some tall, slender, busty-blonde, trophy wife or girlfriend
hanging off his arm.
The
heat radiating off his body only intensified his natural scent mixed with his
cologne. I closed my eyes and inhaled the intoxicating scent deeply. It was
musky, woodsy, and very manly. The guy just oozed sex appeal. My skin tingled
in response.
